At the end of October, the American rapper Travis Scott announced to work with Sony and presented us a Nike Dunk Low Cactus Jack through a commercial dedicated to the next PlayStation 5 (article available HERE). On the occasion of the release of this console on November 12, 2020, a Cactus Jack x PlayStation textile collection was unveiled on the artist’s YouTube channel.
This new line of clothes appears in a short film of more than 10 minutes called « A Travis Scott + Cactus Jack Experience – PS5: Unboxing Reimagined » featuring Travis Scott in front of a giant screen in the desert and playing the PS5. On the pictures, we discover the artist and two teenagers surprised to receive a PS5 each from the hands of the American rapper himself. The video also features short video game sequences, a piano performance by James Blake and ends with a tribute to the late rapper Pop Smoke with scenes of complicity between the two artists and a concert excerpt.
The textile collection includes a black fleece jacket with a reflective washed design, matching pants and work jacket in beige with a brown collar and a « woman’s lower face » print. A dark brown wool and black leather teddy on the sleeves with touches of green on the collar and cuffs and waist is available. We also discover a grey hoodie decorated with the « woman’s face print » in blue on the back and a black hoodie with PlayStation branding on the front and Cactus Jack on the back, as well as a blue and a yellow version. Several crewnecks are proposed to us, each with different prints. The same goes for the short-sleeved t-shirts in several colors ranging from black to white, blue, brown, grey and red, using images from the short film. Light grey or beige beanies, with prints of PS5 release information, finalize this textile collection.
Derivative products complete this collaboration, such as a poster, a skateboard, a brown and black travel bag, a satin brown pear-shaped pouffe, a decorative « Cactus Jack » modulated neon and two « do not distrub » door hangers.
The Travis Scott x Playstation textile and accessories collection has been available since November 13, 2020 on the Travisscott.com website, for a price ranging from 800€ for the teddy to 25€ for the door hanger.
For info, the teddy and the work jacket are priced at 250€ each, hoodies cost 100€, crewnecks sweaters 70 or 80€ and short-sleeved t-shirts 50€.
