The American giant Nike has not done things by halves for the Air Max Day 2021 ! In addition to the reissue of the legendary Air Max 90 « Bacon » and the launch of the brand new Air Max Pre-Day silhouette (article available HERE), the Swoosh’s brand teased a next big project : an Air Max 1 designed in collaboration with the inevitable Travis Scott.
This shoe will be the first collaboration of the American multi-card artist on the iconic AM1 silhouette and the second in the Air Max series, the first being the 270 React.
Revealed on the SNKRS US app via a 20-second mini video, this sneaker is inspired by the rugged work shoes of Nike’s ACG line.
We discover this influence in particular during the first images that reveal round speckled laces in rope type hiking, red and white color. This revisited Air Max 1 is dressed in familiar Travis Scott colors : brown combined with a lighter shade and earth tones. The construction seems to be articulated around a mesh toe box in light colors, beige or water green, and overlays in darker shades, brown and khaki green. The famous Travis signature inverted Swoosh is placed on the side panels and appears in white. A never-before-seen red flag « Cactus Jack » branding adorns the heel in a dark colorway (maybe black), and a new circular « CJ » graphic is emblazoned on the tongue. The pair also features small embroidered graphic inserts reinforcing the reference to Nike’s ACG line.
The Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 is expected to be released soon on nike.com, as the message at the end of the video says« Stay tuned for more details on the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 ».
