After a last opus last December (article available HERE), Todd Snyder and New Balance unveil a new collaborative pair. This time, the choice of the New York-based designer is the famous NB 237.
This exclusive shoe features a look inspired by Todd Snyder’s first pop up on Elizabeth Street in New York. Named « City Gym », it’s reminiscent of the 70’s workout wear featuring the color grey.
Todd Snyder commented : « The college trend has only grown since we opened our first City Gym. This sneaker is inspired by that, taking everything we love about old-school athletic style and presenting it in a new-school way. »
The sneaker consists of a grey nylon upper featuring white visible stitching, enhanced by front overlays and a dark grey suede velour laceguard. The heel tab and inner lining are dressed in light grey and made of suede and terrycloth respectively. To ensure the look, the heel reinforcement and tongue tag, simply branded with a tiny NB logo, are presented in smooth charcoal grey leather. The pair also features a white side N logo and a cream tongue with a striped fabric band. The design of this stripe is also repeated for the heel pull. To complete the retro look, the whole is based on a white and light grey sole, coupled with a gum outsole.
The Todd Snyder x New Balance 237 « City Gym » will be released on October 25, 2022 for $130 via a raffle set up on the designer’s website toddsnyder.com. Be ready !
