Canadian superstar THE WEEKND has delighted his French fans by announcing his return to the stage in 2023. The Diamond certified artist will be coming to France and other European countries for the expansion of his « After Hours Til Dawn Tour ».
This tour celebrates the huge success of the album « After Hours » of 2020, which accumulated 265,000 sales in France. For the record, the single « Blinding lights », from that album, is the longest running song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart of all time. The album « Dawn FM », released last January, will also be featured on the « After Hours Til Dawn Tour ».
Originally scheduled for 2020 with 3 dates at the Accor Arena in Paris, this show has been postponed several times due to health crisis. Finally started this summer in North America, the tour of the famous Canadian singer, songwriter and producer will continue in Europe with 3 dates in different cities in France, the United Kingdom and Latin America.
The sold-out North American leg of the stadium tour was an incredible success, breaking attendance records and grossing over $130 million. THE WEEKND’s shows in France, at the Accor Arena in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Montpellier are also set to sell out. The European opening act will be Kaytranada, the DJ-producer ambassador of the Soundcloud generation.
THE WEEKND is also the Ambassador of the United Nations World Food Program. He will once again join this cause by donating a portion of the proceeds from the 2nd leg of the tour to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization’s response to the unprecedented global food crisis.
1€ from every ticket sold in Europe, £1 in the UK and the equivalent of $1 in Latin American countries will be donated to this important cause. The fund raised money during the North American leg of the tour through ticket sales, proceeds from an exclusive tour t-shirt and a $500,000 donation made directly by the Canadian artist.
As part of the « AFTER HOURS TIL DAWN TOUR », THE WEEKND will perform on August 1, 2022 in Bordeaux at the Matmut Atlantique, after stopping in Nice on July 22 and Paris on July 29, 2022. Information and reservations on box.fr.
