The silhouette of the Nike SB Dunk Low is undergoing some amazing transformations. The designers of the SB division wanted to pay tribute to an album full of history of the American rock band The Grateful Dead. They were inspired by the illustration on the back cover of the album ” History of The Grateful Dead, Volume One (Bear’s choice)” featuring walking bears, each dressed in a different color. After the SB paying tribute to the green bear (article available HERE), we discover the one based on the orange bear.
Like the green iteration, the upper is made of fake fur here in orange color with tone-on-tone suede overlays. This same shade is applied on the thick tongue, with a small secret zipped pocket, and on the laces. In order to bring an explosive contrast, the jagged Swoosh appears in bright green with black contours. Drawings of colourful and dancing bears decorate the insole. The whole is based on the classic Dunk sole.
The Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Low Orange should be released before the end of 2020 at selected skateshops and then on Nike.com.
Like the green version, this colourway should be part of the pack made up of Dunks Low in the colours of the other bears, called « Grateful Dead Bears ».
