Last July, a new SALOMON XT-6 appeared at the “AREA AREA” Spring Summer 2023 fashion show of the Japanese brand CHILDREN OF THE DISCORDANCE (CotD). After some speculations, the legendary French outdoor brand SALOMON brings details about this new special XT-6 : it was designed in triple collaboration with the Japanese fashion brand Children of the Discordance and the Shenzhen shop COSTS.
This revamped XT-6 has a look that blends performance and fashion. The design merges the aesthetics of the COSTS and Children of the Discordance brands, bringing a different streetwear touch to the innate exploratory spirit of the classic Salomon XT-6 trail running shoe. This is a pair of shoes that can be worn in a variety of contexts, from outdoor activities to fashion to lifestyle. It exudes a style that is very popular at the moment ‘casual chic’.
Made from sturdy and robust materials, it consists of an upper covered with a signature Paisley print already present on some of the textile pieces of the CotD collection presented. This print combines white and light pink graphics on a light purple base. The SENSIFIT lines marble the body of the shoe, highlighting the collaboration’s focus on nature and the beauty of the natural world. To affirm the triple collaboration, the tongue is adorned with the partners’ brandings : it features the white and orange “DISCORDANCE EXPLORATION” throughout and “COSTS” in black on the white tag. The SALOMON branding is printed on the heel counter and an orange stripe wraps around most of the foot to complete the design and add a bold touch to the model. The quick and durable QUICKLACE lacing system and ENDOFIT design of the inner lining ensure support and performance. The whole is based on a high-performance, comfortable ACS (AGILE CHASSIS SYSTEM) and Salomon midsole in white, coupled with a black Contagrip outsole that provides grip and stability.
The Children of the Discordance x COSTS x Salomon XT-6 will see an exclusive release to the Chinese and Japanese markets on February 14, 2023. The price is set at 1498 RMB ($220).
