The leader of sportswear NIKE frequently associates with artists, brands, shops and sportsmen to bring their personal touch to cult or too quickly forgotten models (many articles available on this site). To reinterpret the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, the Swoosh brand has recently called on Teyana Taylor.
In addition to being a popular singer, Teyana Taylor is a respected dancer, actress, director and choreographer also known for her love of sneakers. After previously working with big names like adidas and Reebok, the New York City native has teamed up with Nike to revisit the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 based on one of her 2018 hits : the song « A Rose In Harlem ».
Named « A Rose From Harlem », this special version sports a Gym Red/Black/Summit White/Earth-Coconut Milk color palette.
It features a white crinkle leather upper topped with red leather inserts and a glossy purple black heel cup. The Swooshes on the sides of the foot are adorned with bold details, one in black leather with zig-zag stitching and the other woven in red is surrounded by green thorn embroidery. Other exclusive details include a co-branded insole and black Jumpman logo on the outside of the ankle flaps and a special « A Rose From Harlem » on the inside. A vintage-style collar in cracked white leather, metallic gold upper eyelets, small light grey cross patterns on the white panels and toe box, and the TEY logo embroidered in gold thread on the red tongue tag of the left shoe complete the look. The whole is based on a white midsole and red outsole with a yellow underfoot area that matches the laces.
The TEYANA TAYLOR X AIR JORDAN 1 ZOOM CMFT 2 will be released in the coming months at select retailers and on nike.com for $150. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
