The German sportswear giant enriches its « adilicious City Series » collection with a new collaborative pair. After offering us a ZX 8000 honoring Berlin’s Ø27 Kebab restaurant in late August, ADIDAS unveils a Forum Low inspired by Mexico City’s famous taco spot « Taquería Orinoco ».
The « Adilicious City » series is an ongoing collaboration initiative by adidas with 11 iconic restaurants in 11 cities around the world. The German brand has connected with a wide variety of communities to bring us uniquely designed sneakers and to allow the managers of these restaurants to share their stories across borders.
This special Forum Low sports a look reminiscent of the aesthetic of Mexico City’s must-visit nightlife restaurant.
Taquería Orinoco serves several types of tacos, accompanied by cold drinks and specialties like banana ice cream until 6am on Friday and Saturday nights. This spot is known by all and very appreciated by the party people.
Adidas wanted to pay homage to the style and atmosphere of this restaurant through a reimagined Forum Low.
The off-white tile on the walls of the Taquería Orinoco and the bright red of its chairs and stools served as the guiding line for the design of this exclusive edition. It consists of an off-white leather upper with overlays in tone-on-tone or similar shades. The iconic 3-Stripes on the side, the insert on the toe box and the heel clip are presented in pure white. This base is contrasted by bright red elements, such as the inner lining, laces and the restaurant’s logo : an upside-down pig in a tortilla, affixed to the tongue and heel counter. The whole is based on an off-white midsole with a black grid pattern on the midfoot and on outsole also off-white that harmoniously finalizes the look.
The pair will come with an additional set of laces, in white with the names of different meats served in the Mexico City restaurant written in red.
The Taquería Orinoco x adidas Forum Low « Adilicious City Series » will be released on November 12, 2022 at select retailers located in Mexico and via the adidas CONFIRMED app.
