Iconic Japanese brand ASICS expands its collaboration offering by teaming up with visionary designer TAKAHIRO MIYASHITA through his eponymous label TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. The Japanese designer has reimagined the famous innovative and technical model of the sportswear brand, the GEL-Quantum 360 VII.
This revisited pair moves away from its traditional design and previous collaborative versions, such as the one imagined with the Berlin-based brand GmbH (article available HERE).
TAKAHIRO MIYASHITA used his classic Rock and Roll influences to reinvent the asics GEL-Quantum 360 VII.
This asics hybrid shoe sports a Chelsea Boot look, while still having the technical tools of the performance sneaker. The design references the sleek 60’s silhouette worn by members of the Beatles, the iconic English music group that the Japanese designer is particularly fond of.
The asics Chelsea Boot consists of a smooth black leather upper with tonal suede accents on the heel and heel pull. Elastic bands around the ankle and stitching on the center of the foot confirm the 60’s inspiration. The collab is affirmed by a white co-branding affixed to the black insole. The whole is based on a black sole with Scutoid GEL technology that ensures the harmony and elegance of the design. It also benefits from FF BLAST cushioning and the addition of foam to increase comfort and energy underfoot.
TheSoloist x Asics GEL-Quantum 360 VII « The Chelsea Boot » will be released on October 14, 2022 for a price around $400, at selected retailers like SNS and on the Japanese brand’s website the-soloist.net.
