The iconic Asics GEL-Lyte III silhouette continues to inspire big names in sneaker world. After a very successful collab with the shop CONCEPTS (article available HERE), the famous shoe with the split tongue is redesigned by the Spanish brand SVD (Sivasdescalzo).
This new version is part of a sustainable development approach, already encouraged by Asics and SVD. The color scheme recalls the « Earth Day » iteration released in April alongside 4 other Asics silhouettes (article available on this site).
This GEL-Lyte III is adorned with an eco-friendly design, in various materials apparently recycled, and dressed in harmonious and timeless colors close to nature. It consists of a natural beige twill base with neutral light colored recycled material overlays on the toe and heel. The look is completed with Tigers Stripes and inserts in black color on the midfoot, as well as olive green recycled suede at the upper eyelets. The split tongue and collar area is dressed in a marbled grey textile, and the inner lining appears to be designed in natural beige terry. The eco-friendly approach extends to the laces made of hemp rope. The SVD branding is embroidered in white on the heel counter and the heel clip appears in olive green to match the suede of the upper eyelets. The whole is based on a vintage yellowed midsole coupled with a dark gum outsole, which provide the finishing touch and refine the harmonious design.
