For several years now, the prestigious New York streetwear brand SUPREME has been collaborating with the Beaverton giant Nike. These sneakers are highly coveted and some even sell for thousands of Euros on the resale market. For the year 2021, a rumour of a collaborative project with Jordan Brand was born, based on the iconic Air Jordan 1 High. This combo is likely to be explosive given the popularity of the silhouette and the fame of SUPREME.
According to the serious @DropsByJay account post on the Twitter platform, this upcoming project would pay tribute to a former iconic collaboration between the two brands : the Nike Dunk Hi released as part of the Fall/Winter 2003 collection. Also, these shoes would be released in 3 signature colorways : Varsity Red, University Blue and College Orange.
As on the 2003 Dunk Hi, the white leather upper of the SUPREME x Air Jordan 1 Hi would be covered with the gold star graphic on the side panels and would feature overlays in crocodile skin texture, coloured in red, blue or orange depending on the iteration. The side Swoosh would also be in the chosen emblematic colour and the Wings logo would appear engraved in black at the ankle. For the moment the SUPREME branding details are not visible, but the brand could appear on beautiful metallic laces dubraes, like on the collab released 17 years ago. The whole would be based on a white midsole and a red, blue or orange outsole to finalize the design and matching.
The SUPREME x AIR JORDAN 1 High « Varsity Red », « University Blue » and « College Orange » should be released in 2021. Stay tuned for more information and details to come.
