The famous BE@RBRICK figurine is getting a new makeup. After recently wearing the look of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows baseball team through a triple collaboration with the shop ATMOS (article available HERE), the MediCom collection toy appears remodeled by the Japanese brand specialized in trendy sandals, SUICOKE.
This special Be@rbrick is inspired by SUICOKE history.
Before making shoes, the label used to offer matryoshka dolls. Made of wood, hand-painted and designed in several decreasing sizes, these dolls are placed inside each other. Some of the SUICOKE versions came with a white skull pattern in place of the face, a feature found on this personality-driven collaborative Be@rbrick. This motif is a reference to Mexican art where the sugar skull is considered an icon of immortality.
For the rest of the design, the special collectible figurine appears in black with an illustration on the belly representing a blue rose adorned with green leaves and embraced by 2 skeleton hands. True to the theme of the project, the Be@rbrick imagined by SUICOKE is declined in size 100% and 400%.
The SUICOKE x BE@RBRICK will be released on March 20th 2022 online at suicoke.com and in Holt Renfew stores across Canada (holtrenfrew.com).
