The Japanese brand SUICOKE aims to bring novelty to the shoe world with its modern and innovative silhouettes. The sandal specialist is expanding its area of expertise by presenting exclusive collabs (several article available on this site) and transforming other types of footwear. As part of its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, SUICOKE is introducing a new silhouette, the FUROSHIKI « Futon ».
This model features a wrap-around style construction, which is inspired by the ancient Japanese practice of fabric folding. Designed in collaboration with the VIBRAM line, the shoe features an innovative sole design that also wraps the entire foot.
The SUICOKE Vibram FUROSHIKI collection includes two silhouettes, the Futon-LO and the Futon-Hi. These shoes are introduced in 2 colorways, one timeless : black and the other more modern and bold : honey beige/forest green/white. The first version opts for a black sole as well and the 2nd one benefits from a light brown sole.
While the FUROSHIKI Futon-LO is designed to give the wearer a « barefoot » feel, the Futon-HI boot is made from a quilted fabric that keeps the foot warm. SUICOKE accentuated the comfort and support of the foot by providing this boot with an elastic band adjustment that hooks onto a velcro at the side heel and a drawstring at the bottom of the calf.
These pairs feature yellow VIBRAM branding on the fit band and back heel, as well as the SUICOKE tag on the side of the foot. They will be delivered in special blue boxes, covered with a white arabesque pattern.
The SUICOKE Furoshiki « Futon » LO and HI are available for respectively $320 and $330 starting September 30, 2022 at select retailers like FARFETCH, as well as online at suicoke.com
