The Californian streetwear brand Stüssy continued its successful partnership with Beaverton giant Nike. During the year 2020, the two partners have proposed beautiful collaborations based on the Air Force 1 and Air Zoom Spiridon silhouettes (articles available on this site). To start 2021, Stüssy and Nike go back to their roots by offering us an Air Huarache inspired by the archives.
The first collaboration between the Los Angeles-based brand and the equipment manufacturer Nike dates back to the year 2000. The American sportswear giant called on Stüssy to launch its new running shoe, the Air Huarache. This new silhouette was available in two colorways and was released in a limited edition in the Stüssy boutique in London.
To celebrate more than 20 years of successful collaboration, the two partners are reviving this shoe, which was the starting point of a line of very successful projects that captured the attention of sneakerheads.
For the moment, it’s difficult to know if the 2021 iteration will be a real re-release of the 2000 pack or if it will have been modernized. Will it be a combination of cream, khaki green and yellow? Or cream, light brown and grey? like the two pairs released more than 20 years ago? Suspense. However, there is no doubt that the upcoming Air Huarache, revisited by Stüssy, is eagerly awaited by fans of the silhouette, as well as by fans of the collaborations of these two brands.
