The very first collaboration between the brand Stüssy and the American giant Nike will be reissued. In 2000, the Huarache LE was released, a Nike runner revisited by the Laguna Beach label. The « Desert Oak » version, which reappeared in Stüssy’s Spring/Summer 2021 lookbook, should make its comeback very soon.
The Stüssy x Nike Air Huarache « Desert Oak » and « Olive » were released in 2000 in limited quantities exclusively in the London Stüssy boutique. There will be a general release for the reeditions in 2021, which will delight fans of the range and the collaboration.
This 2021 iteration remains faithful to the OG. It consists of an off-white synthetic upper with brown smooth nubuck overlays. The emblematic heel cage in TPU is dyed olive green on the sides and beige-translucent on the back. To complete the design, a light grey insert covers the extended tongue area and wraps around the collar. The red Huarache logo sewn on the tongue brings a nice touch of contrast. The whole is based on an off-white midsole matching the vamp, combined with an olive green outsole.
As a reminder, this Stüssy x Nike Air Huarache LE was one of the first sportswear/streetwear collaborations. It paved the way for a great era of collaborative projects, still active today. So don’t hesitate to cop this « Desert Oak » 2021 version full of history. The « Olive » pair should be available soon too…
