The Parisian design agency founded by Younès Bendjima STUDIO FY7 joins forces with New Balance to present a collaboration based on the popular NB 992 silhouette. After being recently revisited by famous brands such as Kith or Parker Shoe (articles available on this site), this shoe is now adorned with a design inspired by Younès Bendjima’s Algerian origins.
The french boxer-model of Algerian origin Younès Bendjima is known internationally for having paraded for prestigious Haute Couture brands, but has also gained notoriety by having been part of the Kardashian clan. His artistic sensitivity led him to found his creative agency STUDIO FY7. This company focuses on artistic and creative direction as well as production. It reflects a decade of expertise in the fashion industry in Europe and the United States, both in front and behind the camera.
The design of this shoe is inspired by the reliefs and architecture of southern Algeria, particularly the curvature of the dunes and ancient monuments of the commune of Ghardaïa. These have influenced artists around the world, such as the French multidisciplinary architect Le Corbusier.
The sneaker consists of a deep black mesh upper with sand-colored suede overlays. The emblematic N logo on the side appears silvery and its contours are white, making it stand out even more. The New Balance branding is embroidered with sand thread on the black tongue just above the silver « FY7 ». Sand colored laces and a sculpted silver heel clip complete the look. The whole is based on a black, grey and white tricolor midsole combined with a black outsole.
