In order to continue celebrating the 40th anniversary of the famous science fiction movie « Empire Strikes Back », the Star Wars franchise and German giant adidas are finalizing their collaborative collection. After unveiling a Stan Smith tribute to Luke Skywalker a few days ago (article available HERE), the adidas NMD R1 silhouette now features the famous soldiers of the Galactic Empire, known as « Stormtroopers ».
The shoe consists of a white Primeknit upper covered with a black graphic print, reminiscent of the colours of the soldiers’ armour. The shoe features a black laceguard and white laces. On the latter, we can add custom interchangeable white dubraes : « Star » « Wars », « Storm » « Troomper » and the graphic design of the helmeted heads. On the tongue area, a large label with a Stormtrooper print adds cachet to the pair. To complete the design, heel tabs are added and a nod to the helmet design appears in blue on the back badge of the midsole. To complete the look, the insole is embellished with co-branding and the black adidas logo is found on the white heel and front sole badge. The whole is based on a white Boost midsole and a black rubber outsole.
The adidas Star Wars x adidas NMD R1 « Stormtrooper » will be released on July 23, 2020, along with other pairs from this collection, at selected retailers and on adidas.com for 140€.
