During this year 2020, the German giant adidas presented us many sneakers celebrating the 40th anniversary of the episode V of Star Wars : The Empire Strikes Back (several articles available on this site). With the second season of the Star Wars TV show approaching : The Mandalorian, the two partners are continuing their work and propose to us new collaborative pairs, including a Gazelle « Darksaber ».
This legendary silhouette is adorned with a design inspired by the « Darksaber », the powerful and mythical black sword that was kept for centuries in the Jedi Temple.
The shoe comes in a palette of black, metallic silver and grey. It features a black suede upper with the emblematic 3 adidas lateral stripes in shiny grey with black « Lightning » motifs referring to the power of the legendary light saber. This same pattern appears on the heel tab also in metallic grey. Elements such as the tongue with engraved adidas branding and the leather lining are adorned in black color. The co-branded graphic insole, the name GAZELLE in shiny grey on the side of the right shoe and DARKSABER on the left shoe add cachet to the pair. The laces are raw grey, as are the midsole and outsole, harmonizing the look.
To finalize this collaborative project, the pair is delivered in a special black box that brings together the two labels.
The Star Wars x adidas Gazelle « Darksaber » will be released on November 4, 2020 at selected retailers and on adidas.com for 100€.
