Solebox x adidas EQT Racer

ADIDAS’ EQT (Equipment) line started its 30th anniversary celebration by presenting us with a brand new Predator Accelerator 4D EQT sneaker a few days ago (article available HERE). The brand with the three stripes invited collaborative partners from its Consortium network to reinterpret silhouettes. The German shop Solebox is the first to unveil its EQT Racer collab.

Solebox designer Aljoscha Kondratiew gave a sneak peek of the shoe on his Instagram account. It’s a ’90s running-inspired prototype that never made it to market. Named Racer, the silhouette is particularly inspired by Grand Prix Races and sports a vintage look. As a nod, Aljoscha Kondratiew published a photo of a famous German racing driver whose suit colors are used to dress this collaborative shoe. It consists of a semi-translucent white upper featuring a grid pattern, enhanced by yellowed side overlays and an off-white suede tongue with exposed foam. The toe and heel are also protected by off-white suede inserts and the thick lining is trimmed in pale yellow. The design is completed with classic adidas branding on the heel and a touch of contrasting red on the semi-translucent tongue pull and dubrae. The whole is based on a comfortable midsole resembling that of the EQT BASK ADV released in 2018. It’s presented in white with a pale yellow section under the heel and is adorned with the 3 Stripes under the midfoot. A white outsole completes the design.

The Solebox x adidas EQT Racer will be released soon at select retailers and on adidas.com. For the latest official info, stay tuned !
