SOLEBOX X ADIDAS EQT PROTO

A few weeks ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the collaboration between the German retailer Solebox and Adidas. The silhouette Solebox chose to pay tribute to the 3 decades of EQT’s existence is a prototype that was never released and was supposed to be called « Racer ». In the end, Solebox and adidas decided to simply name this silhouette « Proto ».

Having been lucky enough to receive this collab, I suggest you to discover it in pictures on my feet.

For the design, Aljoscha Kondratiew was inspired by the vintage suits of car racing drivers, the equipment of a Grand Prix driver. The shoe consists of a semi-translucent white upper featuring a grid pattern, enhanced by yellowed side overlays and an off-white suede tongue with exposed foam. The toe and heel are also protected by off-white suede inserts, and the thick lining is dressed in pale yellow. The look is completed with classic adidas branding on the heel and red accents on the tongue pull and dubrae, evoking the speed and adrenaline that this motorsport provides, now and then. The whole is based on a midsole resembling the EQT BASK ADV released in 2018. It’s presented in white with a yellowed part under the heel and is adorned with the iconic 3-Stripes under the midfoot. A white outsole finalizes the design.

I find this silhouette racy and bold. The aggressive shape of the pair matches perfectly with the theme of this project. For me, this is a true collaboration that has been worked and thought for a premium quality manufacturing. You will have understood, I validate in 100% this adidas EQT Proto.
