The high-end sneaker brand SONRA, from talented designer Hikmet Sugoer, has been doing a string of eye-catching collaborations. After teaming up with Porsche Design ten days ago, the German label is participating in the 10-year celebration of the Dubai urban festival SOLE DXB with a collaborative Proto II named « Marrakesh ».

Sole DXB is a festival whose program consists of live music performances, concerts and dj sets, film screenings, lectures on street culture, art workshops, sports tournaments and a sneaker event : « SNEAKER SWAP » which allows the purchase, exchange and sale of pairs of major brands.

The Sole DXB festival has been held annually since its inception, but was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the UAE. Returning in 2022 for its 10th anniversary, celebration and good humor will be the common thread in this very special edition.

The SONRA Proto II collaborative « Marrakesh » is limited to 100 units worldwide. It has a look inspired by the colors of this special city in Morocco.

Dressed in premium turquoise and pastel pink suede, the pair has a mismatched look. The right foot is predominantly teal with a pink perforated suede tox box and conversely, the left foot features a pink upper contrasted by a teal tox box. The side Sonra logo appears in light brown leather, as does the heel reinforcement with the model name engraved. To affirm the collaboration, the Dubai Festival branding stands out on the back of the heel. A light brown leather and suede inner lining, white laces and embossed SONRA logo on the tongue complete the design. The whole is based on a white midsole and a gum outsole that provides the final stylish touch.

The ultra-limited Sole DXB x SONRA Proto II will be exclusively available at the Sole DXB festival, which takes place December 9-11, 2022 at the Dubai Design District. The first 50 pairs will be offered for sale on Saturday, December 9 and the last 50 pairs on Sunday, December 10, 2022 at the festival’s ‘FRESH’ Merch area.
