The Swedish reference shop SNEAKERSNSTUFF (SNS) continues to present premium collaborations retracing a part of its history. After offering us a New Balance pack honoring their first collab in 2005 (article available HERE), Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson join forces with ADIDAS to celebrate the New York City neighborhood where one of their stores is located.
With its strong partner ADIDAS, SNS has already paid tribute to some of its flagships cities around the world. After the exclusive Stockholm, London, Paris and Berlin editions (articles available on this site), SNS expands its Hometown Love line by introducing the ADIDAS GT silhouette in the special « New York City » form.
The shoe is a special reference to the Meatpacking District, the area on the far west side of Manhattan where SNS is located. This place is historically linked to meat, with its stores, warehouses and markets residing in brown brick buildings.
Inspired by the history and aesthetic of this neighborhood, the SNS x adidas Originals GT « NYC » is dressed in premium brown suede with 3-Stripes and a leather heel tab in a darker shade. The insole, also in brown leather, features map-like graphics and gold adidas branding. The gold SNS GT lettering on the quarter panel and adidas logos on the brown leather tongue are also applied in gold. The whole is based on a brown rubber sole.
To highlight this collaborative pair and the history of the Meatpacking District, SNS invited graffiti artist and legend Steve « ESPO » Powers to recreate classic butcher shop signs and posters.
The SNS x adidas Originals GT « NYC » will be released on March 9, 2022, exclusively in SNS stores and via an open raffle on the SNS app, priced at €120 and sizesrun US7 to US13.
