Snow Peak x New Balance TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO Niobium Concept 1

The Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak continues its collaboration with the conceptual outpost of the Boston-based brand, the New Balance TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO. The two partners are offering a second capsule collection of clothing and footwear on the theme of « Camp Fishing », designed in weather-resistant materials. A new modular sneaker from this pack is presented to us today, the NB TDS Niobium Concept 1.

The name of this new sneaker refers to the chemical element Niobium, a grey-coloured alloying agent that gives considerable properties to the materials to which it is added. Among other things, it brings resistance and lightness. This futuristic and innovative sneaker is modular, it’s 3 in 1 and can be worn in waterproof boots, outdoor clogs or indoor slippers, thanks to parts of the heel that can be zipped or unzipped.

The shoe consists of a grey/sand protective ballistic-coated upper lined with eVent fabric, with touches of black on the front of the foot, especially on the toe made of ultra-resistant material. We find a black central zip and the discontinuous lateral N logo in the same colour on the sides of the shoe. At the back of the foot, grey/olive suede panels and the black TPU support provide an additional premium touch. The sand collar and black insole with co-branding complete the look. The whole is based on a grey/olive textured ABZORB midsole, taken from the « MT801 » trail running model.

A textile collection made up of technical clothing in waterproof eVent fabric will complete this collaboration.

The new silhouette Snow Peak x New Balance TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO Niobium Concept 1 will be released on August 29, 2020 exclusively on the Snow Park website and at selected retailers in Japan. This capsule collection is scheduled for worldwide release on September 4, 2020.
