After presenting us with an eye-catching collaboration with Le Coq Sportif back in May, Italian shop SNEAKER76 reunites with former partner PUMA to rework the Blaze Of Glory silhouette.
6 years after their last collaborative pair, the iconic Taranto store founded in 2006 and the legendary German sports label have teamed up to update once again this PUMA model created in 1993.
The Blaze Of Glory is a sneaker appreciated for its unique design and technical skills. It features minimal logos, a lacing system with plastic straps and TRINOMIC cushioning technology. This popular model has been the basis for many collaborations, like with SNS and OVERKILL recently or Ronnie Fieg x Colette a few years ago.
SNEAKERS76 explains that with its « Kriptòs » reinterpretation of the Blaze of Glory, it brings back to light PUMA’s historical model inspired by an imaginary and mysterious secret society that came from the past to leave a cryptic message inside the sneakers. A message that draws attention to the theme of consciousness, hidden behind codes and symbols, to once again raise the bar on the value and strength of stories : to be aware that we are all part of a community composed of codes and morals, ethics and above all the willingness to assign the right value to what we have.
Regarding the colors chosen to dress this exclusive pair, the Italian shop was inspired by an old postcard from Taranto. It consists of a white leather upper, complemented by grey or teal blue leather overlays and a touch of navy blue on the toe box. A teal blue heel pull, grey inner lining and a vintage leather tongue tag featuring the SNEAKERS76 branding paired with PUMA’s Trinomic logo on the right foot and ‘feline’ on the left foot ensures the look. The whole is based on a yellowed retro style midsole and a grey and teal blue outsole that brings the final harmonious touch to the design.
The SNEAKERS76 x PUMA Blaze of Glory « Kriptòs » is released as a worldwide exclusive on December 18, 2022 at the SNEAKERS76 store located in Via Vincenzo Pupino, 43 in Taranto, ITALY. It will be available online via an open raffle until December 19, 2022 on sneakers76.com. The price is set at 138€ ($140), let’s go !
