A few weeks ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the third collaboration between the famous Tel Aviv shop SNEAKERBOX and the French brand Le Coq Sportif. They celebrate together their anniversary. 10 years for Sneakerbox and 30 years for the famous R800 silhouette.
Having had the chance to receive it, I suggest you to discover it in pictures on my feet.
In honor of these anniversaries, the new LCS R800 collaborative is dressed in kilim colors. Kilim is the first detail that catches your eye when you enter SNEAKERBOX Tel Aviv. It’s a colorful carpet that gives the shop a warm and family atmosphere. As the name suggests, in Persian gelim, « Kilim » is spread out roughly on the concrete floor. Originally, this design object was handmade from wool, cotton or even goat hair. These rugs feature colorful geometric patterns that assert the charming ethnic style.
To honor this textile piece, the sneaker’s heel counter and insole are covered with similar patterns in a blue, orange and fir green color combination. Beautiful colors in wood and forest tones, but also a design representing amulets, symbols of luck and protection. Banking on luck but also on the high quality of craftsmanship of the French brand, the shoe is adorned with cuts and premium materials. Suede, canvas and leather are featured in forest green, white or mustard yellow. To complete the look, the tongue is also dressed in suede and the brandings appear embroidered, like the SNEAKERBOX logo on the heel, the Coq Sportif on the quarter panel and the brand on the heel tab. The important decades for the 2 brands and highlighted through this LCS R800 are engraved on the lace dubraes, « 10 » on one side and « 30 » on the other. A yellowed midsole coupled with a two-tone orange-fir green outsole provides the finishing touch.
The pair is packaged in a pouch that features the Kilim rug design and a specially designed linen bag for carrying this SNEAKERBOX x Le Coq Sportif LCS R800.
I find this collaboration really successful. Indeed, the color and the distribution of the colors seem to me harmonious. The quality of the materials as well as the finishing touches are satisfactory. For me, this is a true collaboration essential in a collection of sneaker addict.
