The famous split tongue shoe, the ASICS GEL-Lyte III, continues to be reinvented by big names in the sneaker game. After AWAKE NY (article available HERE), it’s the turn of the famous Louisiana shop SNEAKER POLITICS to partner with ASICS to present us its version of the Shigeyuki Mitsui design.
This special GEL-Lyte III features a look inspired by the military service of SNEAKER POLITICS founder Derek Curry.
Presented in a color blocking that references military uniforms, it consists of an olive green canvas upper with matching suede overlays. The Tigers Stripes are dressed in black and the side heel is adorned with a black and yellow military-style Velcro badge featuring « POLITICS » branding surrounded by stars. To complete the look, the store’s circular black « P » logo is emblazoned on the heel and a tear on the toe box reveals the American flag motifs. A two-tone cream/green midsole and yellow, green, off-white and black gum outsole finalize the look.
The Sneaker Politics x asics GEL-Lyte III will be released on May 30, 2022 for $150, at Sneaker Politics, in stores and online at sneakerpolitics.com, as well as at asics.com and select retailers. Be ready !
