After offering us Nike Dunk High reimagined a few weeks ago (article available HERE), the famous Italian Slam Jam store teams up with a long time partner, the Japanese equipment manufacturer Asics. This collaboration is based on the hyper technical running silhouette, the NOVABLAST.
This runner is adorned with the Slam Jam imprint, with a color that is quite far from the bright shades usually applied to this type of high-performance sneaker. Through this collaboration, Luca Benini’s label continues its search for the « ultimate uniform » combining sport and fashion, performance and lifestyle.
The shoe consists of a soft and reinforced mesh upper with no stitching or heat welding and comes in a gradient of grey from concrete grey to silver. The color black was chosen to define the Tiger stripes, the inner lining and the laces. A touch of contrast is provided by a deep red line running along the contours of the laceguard and connecting the sides of the heel. The branding details are discreet, the Asics logo appears on the tongue and the Slam Jam brand is printed on the insole. The whole is based on a black and silver midsole with Flytefoam Blast cushioning combined with a deep red AHARPLUS rubber outsole for enhanced traction.
Slam Jam has developed a promotional campaign celebrating the concepts of speed and movement for the release of this shoe. To accompany it with music, the Italian boutique called upon the current Chef de Coeur of the Bordeaux National Opera, Salvatore Caputo, who created an exclusive mix « Ground Effect by Salvotore Caputo & Unité d’Habitation », available in long version on mixcloud.com/slamjam.
The NOVABLAST Slam Jam x Asics will be exclusively released on November 21, 2020 on the shop’s website via a raffle whose registrations are open herehttps://www.slamjam.com/en_FR/man/footwear/sneakers/low/asics/slam-jam-novablast-sps-sneakers/J190230.html. Sizes ranging from EU 39 to EU 46.5, for a price of 163€. The pair will then be released at selected retailers worldwide on November 26, 2020.
