After offering us a Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 « Carnaby Street » as a tribute to the London shopping street where Size? flagship store is located, the British brand is once again partnering with Nike to highlight the location of its headquarters and one of its very first stores, « Manchester ». Unveiled in September (article available HERE), Size? and the Swoosh brand made official this collaboration based on the iconic Air Force 1 Low silhouette.
The hyper-active city of Manchester is a great cradle of British culture. Two important values of this city, work and unity have been symbolized by the worker bee for more than 150 years. To honor these values and the people of this important city in the history of Size?, 10% of the proceeds from the sale of this exclusive pair will be donated to the city’s We Love MCR charity, the Rising Star Foundation. This organization strives to support local youth from disadvantaged backgrounds by giving them the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to move forward and succeed in life.
The shoe is made of an upper combining high quality leather and suede in a honey beige color. A nice touch of contrast and elegance is provided by the brown leather side swoosh, a color reminiscent of the stripes on the bee’s body. This « bee » symbol of the city of Manchester is distinguished by fine embroidery on the side heel. On the other side of the heel, delicate engraved details refer to the cells of beehives. To complete the tribute, the off-white mesh tongue also appears honeycombed and is adorned with a small side label with the number « 0161 », which is the telephone number of the city of Manchester. The Nike Air logo engraved on the heel, the beige leather insole, the off-white laces and the off-white honeycombed inner lining complete the design. The whole is based on an off-white midsole combined with a grey outsole.
The Size? x Nike Air Force 1 Low « Manchester » will be released on November 19, 2020 via a raffle on the SIZE?LAUNCHES app, which will be open for registration from November 15 at 9:00 am. The price is set at 145€, sizes ranging from EU 36.5 to EU 47.5. Good luck !
