The silhouette from the ADIDAS archives, the Forum Hi 84, continues to inspire big names in the sneaker game. After SVD, Jeremy Scott or Eric Emanuel (articles available on this site), the Parisian boutique SHINZO unveils its reinterpretation of this retro bball that became a streetwear icon.
The shoe, limited to 300 pieces, was designed with the help of the marble artist/artisan Nicolas Bianco and the creative studio specialized in sports and basketball culture, Trajectoire Studio. The sneaker pays tribute to the origins of SHINZO Paris shop : sport, performance and 80´s culture. It features a white, grey and blue color palette.
This Forum Hi consists of a white mesh upper with a perforated white leather toe box and marbled Italian leather overlays. Inspired by the Japanese art form « Kintsugi », whose talent is repairing broken pottery, the sneaker is adorned with royal blue « crack » patterns scattered across the iconic white side stripes and heel clip. Blue accents also appear on the tongue and heel brandings. « Never forget the origins », symbolizing the collab’s theme, stands out on the back side of the midsole. Above, we discover the numbering of the pair affixed gold color. The design is completed with the adidas Trefoil engraved under the ankle area and a light grey suede overlay that wraps around the heel. A white midsole combined with a semi-translucent outsole finalizes the design.
The SHINZO Paris x Adidas Forum Hi 84 « Kintsugi » will have a special release. 220 pairs will be available via 2€ (less than 3$) raffle open until June 21, 2021 on the shop website shinzo.paris. All the profits generated by this sale will be used to customize orthopedic prostheses designed by U.Exist, a design studio specialized in this field.
SHINZO Paris is organizing an exhibition « Never Forget the Origins » open at all, on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10am to 19pm in the 3rd district of Paris at the Espace Commines (17 rue des Commines). This event combines sport, culture and contemporary art. Jacques Chassaing, the designer of the adidas Forum will honor us with his presence !
