After a few months of waiting, the Air Force 1 « Summit White » created in collaboration with the Serena Williams Design Crew was finally released last February (article available HERE). Today, the queen of tennis and her team unveil a new « Blue » tonal version of this legendary NIKE model.
A quick reminder : In 2019, Serena Williams and Nike have signed an innovative and committed partnership. The iconic tenniswoman wants to use her fame to benefit people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Advocating inclusion and diversity, she has allowed young talent to join an apprenticeship program at Nike. 10 budding designers are working on Serena Willams’ upcoming collaborative clothing and footwear collections. They form the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC).
This special AF1 comes in a luxurious style. It fconsists of a royal blue grained leather upper covered with an intricate floral embossed overlay that gives a high end look. This style is accentuated by an embroidered double Swoosh on the side panels and a metallic gold zip above the laces. Other details include SWDC’s « 10 4 01 » logo on the tongue, alongside « A collection created to inspire change and move the world ». The pair also features colorful floral-inspired co-branded insoles and Serena Williams’ signature embroidered on the heel tab. A royal blue midsole coupled with a semi-translucent icy outsole harmoniously finalizes the design.
The Serena Williams x Nike Air Force 1 « Blue » will be released in the coming months at select retailers and on nike.com, priced at $130. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
