Since 2021, world tennis superstar Serena Williams and her DESIGN CREW (SWDC) have partnered with sportswear giant NIKE. After revisiting the iconic Air Force 1 last year, SWDC brings its touch to the Air More UPTEMPO silhouette.
Back to the SERENA WILLIAMS DESIGN CREW : For a few years now, Serena Williams has been involved in a partnership with Nike in order to put her fame to the benefit of people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Advocating inclusion and diversity, she has allowed young talents to join an apprenticeship program at the Swoosh brand. 10 budding designers are working on the next collaborative collections of clothing and footwear of Serena Willams. They form the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC).
The SWDC brings a more elegant look to the UPTEMPO silhouette by drawing inspiration from 2 facets of Serena Williams : the champion tennis athlete and the fashion icon woman.
The shoe comes in a Dark Obsidian, Summit White and Space Purple color palette. Made from a combination of materials, it consists of a dark blue denim twill base with green stitching and a worn-in finish. The tongue appears in denim-matched corduroy with smooth white leather inserts and round lace imitation pulls also in white. Purple elements, such as a side mini-tag and stitching on various parts of the vamp complete the design. The whole is based on a navy blue sole with a purple mini-Swoosh logo under the heel and a transparent air-sole.
The pair will come in a special box and with an extra set of navy laces.
