Teased for a long time, the next collaboration between the American designer Sean Wotherspoon and the German brand adidas is now presented in details. While the first version unveiled was announced as a triple collaboration with the famous Japanese shop ATMOS (article available HERE), this exclusive and inaugural iteration has also been developed with 3 but with the help of Disney.
Named Superturf Adventure, this sneaker pays tribute to the Disney movie « Pinocchio » released in 1940, inspired by the famous character Jiminy Cricket.
True to the eco-responsible convictions of the founder of shop Round Two, the shoe is composed in part of a mix of multi-colored vegan materials. It also features Sean Wotherspoon’s favorite corduroy and a color scheme that references the elegant Jiminy Cricket. The sneaker consists of a purple corduroy base with a beige side cage complemented by a speckled bottom panel and a blue laceguard. The iconic adidas 3-Stripes appear in green fabric with yellow stitching, and the toe and heel overlays stand out in orange and sky blue, respectively. In addition to the white lacing system, the green tongue features a purple zipper. Above the latter, sits a small and practical removable bag signed SW in orange-yellow color. To complete the look, a Jiminy Cricket graphic adorns the tongue tag and Sean Wotherspoon branding is applied to the cork insole. The whole is based on a white adiPRENE midsole with an orange and purple under heel insert, coupled with an ultra grippy fir green outsole.
The Sean Wotherspoon x Disney x adidas Superturf Adventure « Jiminy Cricket » is expected to be released during November 2021, at select retailers and adidas.com, for a price of 160$. More details to come, stay tuned !
