[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]A few weeks ago, Sean Wotherspoon proposed us his very first collaboration with the German giant Adidas (article available HERE). A project committed to an environmental policy dear to Adidas and to the American designer concerned about preserving the planet from all non-recyclable waste.
I had the opportunity to have the « Super Earth » thanks to the Footshop teams. I suggest you to discover it in pictures at my feet.
The pair is composed of a white leather upper with a sky blue leather laceguard on the outside and pale pink on the inside. The emblematic rubber shell on the toe box is dressed in off-white. On the sides of the sneaker, we discover multicolored flowers embroidered with red, black, yellow, orange, blue, purple and green thread. This eco-friendly pair is adorned with laces made of recycled paper, a cork insole with recycled composite padding and a white inner lining made of recycled ortholite. In terms of branding details, a green globe logo and the words « Super Earth » appear on the white tongue and the insole. To complete the engaged side of the collaboration, an explanatory text is printed in green on the inside of the tongue. The whole is based on an off-white midsole made of 10% recycled rubber and an outsole in the same color.
I find this collaboration successful in every way. Indeed, the quality/price ratio seems (for once) justified to me, being on a project that I would almost call « Hype » as the name Wotherspoon is currently selling. Regarding the quality and finish, I find them rather successful with the use of simple materials, recycled (for some) in basic and effective colorways.
