The famous Japanese shop ATMOS has a policy of investing in qualitative collaborations. After having recently teamed up with PUMA, the legendary store in Harajuku district presents us its exclusive project elaborated with the French outdoor brand SALOMON.

For this first official collaboration, Atmos brought its touch to the silhouette of the popular XT-6. This cult model celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Named “Stars Collide”, this revisited trail sneaker is inspired by the ‘celestial collision’, a concept based on the moment when stardust scattered in the universe shines brightly. The design also pays homage to the early days of Atmos in 2000-2003 when the ‘star’ motif was at its peak for collaborations.

This reimagined SALOMON XT-6 reflects the past and future of Atmos.

It consists of a technical mesh upper in dusty black, complemented by two-tone black/silver metallic inserts that affirm the design and inspiration. The Quicklace system is also dressed in a bright light grey, as is the SALOMON branding applied to the heel counter. The name of the Tokyo-based shop ATMOS is subtly distinguished on the vertically woven band on the tongue. The special feature of this collaborative pair is the eye-catching retro ‘shining stars’ pattern appearing on the low overlay surrounding the foot. To finalize the design, the black midsole features a silver-grey speckled effect imitating stardust and is adorned with silver-grey inserts at the heel. The other elements of the shoe, such as the tongue, inner lining and outsole, are black to highlight these specific details.

The visual presentation of this collab was entrusted to the world-renowned photographer RK. It features the artist, art director and model IO, and the model Miyuki Arihara. The duo ventures into a landscape of mountains and waterfalls while wearing the famous XT-6 special Atmos.

The Salomon XT-6 for atmos “STARS COLLIDE” will be released on April 8, 2023 at a price of ¥27500 ($209) in stores and online via an open raffle starting April 1, 2023 at atmos-tokyo.com.
