Former Versace footwear designer Salehe Bembury has teamed up once again with the boston brand New Balance. After having successfully revisited the 2002R silhouette (article available HERE), the founder of the SPUNGE label looked into the NB Test Run Project 3.0.
Salehe Bembury is one of those designers who dare to create bold and even extravagant designs. He doesn’t hesitate to choose bright colors and strong prints to design his shoes. This hiker and cyclist also seeks to combine fashion and performance. He designs comfortable pairs that are both modern lifestyle and high performance, at the cutting edge of fashion and even futuristic.
It’s on his Instagram account that Salehe unveiled this new collaboration, which appears to be the craziest to date. Made from high-end multi-materials, the leopard-print base is adorned with hairy gray suede and white leather overlays on the front part of the foot. In the back, a combination of turquoise blue and green brings a nice contrast. Salehe Bembury’s « fingerprint » pattern, already present on the previous collab, appears in brown on the yellow side strap, which is also embellished with green zig-zag seams in the middle. As for the zippered strap, the signature of the Test Run Project 3.0, it’s dressed in white with the light gray NB logo subtly affixed along its entire length. The fluo green Salehe Bembury branding adorns the bright orange tongue pull. To complete the design, the inner lining is black and the tongue is white. The whole is based on a white Fresh Foam midsole with touches of golden beige-colored, combined with a yellow Vibram outsole.
The release date for the Salehe Bembury x New Balance Test Run Project 3.0 has not yet been announced. As with the launch of the collaboration with the Chinese equipment manufacturer ANTA, it’s highly likely that the information will arrive on the designer’s brand account : @beaspunge. Go follow !
