Long teased by the former Versace VP of Footwear, the second colorway of the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R collaboration is now revealed. Named « Water Be The Guide », this version follows the very popular « Peace Be The Journey » released last year (article available HERE).
Just like the first NB 2002R collaborative, this version pays tribute to nature and its essential resources, this time : water.
Continuing in the same style, the sneaker is adorned with a construction combining premium materials. It consists of a white mesh upper with an orange underlay, probably a nod to the 1st collaborative version. This base is enhanced by teal suede overlays, turquoise leather inserts and neon green accents to best match the color shades of ocean water color. To complete the look, the tongue and under ankle area are dressed in dark orange leather, and the inner lining and laces are adorned in teal. In terms of branding details, the Salehe Bembury name adorns the long lace loop, New Balance running is featured on the tongue, and the American designer’s signature fingerprint pattern appears on the back of the heel. Although not visible for now, this version should also benefit from a cork insole with the co-branding. The whole is based on a white N-ERGY midsole spotted with dark orange and a teal blue outsole.
