After the release of his special « Sand Be the Time » New Balance 990v2 to close out 2022, the talented designer Salehe Bembury continues his momentum with a string of eye-catching collaborations at the beginning of 2023. Teased a few weeks ago, the revisited Clarks Lugger by the renowned designer has a release date.
The former Versace had first unveiled his collab with Clarks Originals in October. Today he presents his reinterpretation of the Lugger silhouette officially.
Named « Mud Loss », this exclusive version features a look inspired by nature and wide open spaces, a strong influence for Salehe Bembury. It’s offered in 3 colorways : green, grey and orange. Regarding the construction, the 3 iterations are adorned with identical materials reminiscent of the elements of nature. We find a classic suede and shaggy suede upper on the toe box which is adorned with an abstract ‘Splash’ pattern that the designer uses on the models of his brand SPUNGE. This print appears in pink on the green pair, navy blue on the grey and bright blue on the orange version. To ensure the design, the collar is dressed in a synthetic material resembling elastic neoprene and the co-branded hangtag is cut in the shape of a leaf. The pair also benefits from an asymmetrical and side lacing system, as well as a towering seam. The whole is based on a thick, bleached crepe sole that adds the final bold touch to the design.
