Rubik’s Cube x G-SHOCK GAE-2100RC-1AER

For the holiday season, G-SHOCK proposed us an exclusive collab with the young Chinese brand COSTS (article available HERE). In this January 2022, the famous watch brand unveils a new project full of nostalgia for many of us : a GAE-2100RC-1AER designed in collaboration with the legendary puzzle toy brand RUBIK’S.

The watch features a look that honors the legendary Rubik’s Cube.

Invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik, the Rubik’s Cube has become one of the best-selling toys of all time, with a record 450 million to date.

Commenting on the project, G-SHOCK said : « There are many synergies between G-SHOCK’s approach to watch making and the iconic Rubik’s Cube. A rugged, eye-catching exterior with deeper complexities and a shared ‘Never Give Up’ philosophy make this collaboration a natural partnership. »

The collab is based on G-Shock’s new iconic model, the GA-2100 which features the latest Carbon Core Guard technology, impact resistant and waterproof to 200 meters. The GAE-2100RC-1AER features a thinner but equally rugged case, and its unique octagonal silhouette with an analog-digital display and retro look. On this special version, the dial is decorated with the 3 faces of the legendary Rubik’s Cube, in blue, yellow and red colors. The watch comes with 2 versions of interchangeable bezels, one white and one black, with green and red technical inscriptions. To complete the look, the strap is black with a white Rubik’s branding and is adorned with an orange buckle and a green keeper. The back of the stainless steel case is adorned with engraved Rubik’s and G-SHOCK logos. The traditional G-SHOCK Casio branding is retained on the top of the dial.

The Rubik’s Cube x G-SHOCK GAE-2100RC-1AER will be released as a limited edition at the end of February 2022, in G-SHOCK stores, online at gshock.com and at selected retail partners of the brand, at a price of 149€.

G-SHOCK UK has announced a national launch date of February 9. Other countries should bring details for their soil soon…
