The famous designer Ronnie Fieg regularly presents us with high-end collabs (several articles available on this site). For the next « Monday Program » of his brand KITH, Ronnie Fieg offers us an exlcusive collection (RF)² designed in partnership with tennis legend Roger Federer and the Swiss-based shoe brand On Running.
Ronnie Fieg and Roger Federer met for the 1st time in 2017. The 2 men who share the same initials, double RF, immediately hit it off, in addition to admiring each other’s talent.
In 2019, the talented tennis player partnered with On Running, a new performance sneaker brand that gained popularity during the pandemic. Roger Federer wanted to invest in the brand and helped design his own shoes, « The Roger ».
Ronnie Fieg explains that he « loved the silhouette immediately and wanted to support the model in a major way by becoming the exclusive retailer of THE ROGER Pro ».
Over the past 2 years, the designer, the tennis player and the ON brand have been working together to come up with an exclusive and very personal collaboration with the « 2 RF ».
Ronnie Fieg commented : « Roger and I each have a strong work ethic and passion for our respective crafts. We both strive to be and remain the best at what we do. This foundation of mutual respect, regardless of our profession, has led to a sense of mutual trust in the design process. »
Roger Federer Added : « Ronnie has a tremendous amount of knowledge in the sneaker world and that, combined with my tennis experience, has created a great collaboration that we are both proud of. »
Just as there are 2 RF’s, there are 2 styles of shoes, one performance and one lifestyle : THE ROGER Clubhouse Mid and THE ROGER PRO respectively.
Both are inspired by Roger Federer’s early days on the tennis court. He told Ronnie that the floor of his first spot was made of red clay. Every night, he went home with shoes turned to red.
This models were reimagined by Ronnie Fieg by blending his artistic creation with Roger Federer’s childhood tennis memories.
THE ROGER Clubhouse Mid is a new creation by Roger with the latest performance innovations. For this collab, the shoe features a white base rubbed with red clay.
THE ROGER PRO is also dressed in white, but comes with a small red clay bag so everyone can personalize it as he wants.
These special pairs are adorned with a personalized version of the On logo and the famous co-branding (RF)² symbolizing the collab by highlighting the common initials of the 2 leaders in their field. This exclusive logo is engraved on the side panels and affixed to the tongue. The final touch is Roger’s signature on the performance shoe and Ronnie’s on the lifestyle model.
