Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III « Yoshino Rose »

A few days ago, the talented New York designer Ronnie Fieg teased a reworked version of his 252 pack, created in collaboration with Asics in 2007 (article available HERE). Today, the Queens native designer unveils a pair from this new pack simply named 252.1, the Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte III « Yoshino Rose ».

The name given to this shoe is a possible reference to the Yoshino cherry blossoms that bloom in Japan during the spring season. The soft colours associated with them can be found in this iteration.

The sneaker presented today consists of a pure white mesh upper with white-grey suede overlays of beautiful quality. The Asics stripes appear in a shade of coral pink and the upper lace eyelets in a deeper pink tending towards red. To complete the soft design of the pair, the mesh tongue, inner lining and laces come in pure white. A nice touch of contrast is provided by the insole and the branding details in an ocean blue colour. The FIEG name is embroidered in this colour on the slit tongue, in the typical Asics writing style. The latter also stands out in blue on the midsole and the silhouette’s name is subtly engraved in tone-on-tone on the white-grey suede heel counter. A pearl grey heel clip completes the pair’s neat look. The whole is based on a white midsole and a tricolour rubber outsole : pinkish-red on the toe, white-grey on the middle of the foot and black on the heel.

This Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel Lyte III « Yoshino Rose » should be released in the coming weeks, in some KITH shops and on the KITH.com website.

More info to come on this release and surely on the two other pairs that are part of the 252.1 pack, stay tuned…
