Quiccs x adidas Forum Low « TEQ63 »

Partners since January 2020, the giant ADIDAS and Filipino multidisciplinary artist Juanito Maiquez, better known as QUICCS, unveil their new collaborative project : a Forum Low « TEQ63 ».

Although the partnership is new, adidas has been an influence on QUICCS since he was a young boy. The self-taught multidisciplinary artist was heavily exposed to the many Japanese and American animation shows popular during the 80s and 90s. At the age of 5, he received a gift from his father : a highly prized articulated figurine, which would spawn a toy collection and a vocation for later life. He said : « I grew up at a time when the careers of rappers Tupac Shakur and The Notroious BIG were at their peak ». This melting pot of influences allowed Juanito Maiquez to develop his style and work as a toy designer, graffiti artist, illustrator and art director.

The reinterpreted Forum Low named « TEQ63 » refers to the eponymous toy created by QUICCS. It’s a character living in Manila inspired by Japanese robot anime, with a « helmet face ».

This sneaker features a white leather base paired with red colored elements such as the iconic 3-Stripes, inner lining and outsole. The pair is adorned with special details including graphics on the side panels and the embroidered « TEQ63 » character head under the tongue strap. The latter is interchangeable and comes in 3 versions, white leather or red with reverse color brandings. To affirm the homage, the TEQ63 logo appears on the metal lace dubraes and adorns the back of the heel. Two sets of laces, white or red, and removable tags allow to modulate the look of the shoe. An off-white midsole completes the design.

The Quiccs x adidas Forum Low « TEQ63 » will be released soon at select retailers and on adidas.com. More info to come, stay tuned !
