QUAI 54 2022 : le bilan

The long awaited 17th edition of the biggest streetball tournament in the world, the QUAI 54, was held at the foot of the Eiffel Tower last weekend, on July 9 and 10, 2022 (article available HERE). After this great moment of sport, celebration and sharing, it’s time to take stock.

Quai 54 is a world famous Parisian event. It welcomes as many public figures as amateurs, all united by the love of basketball, but also of music and street culture in general.

This year, more than 8000 spectators came to attend the games and shows.

The best players competed to win the ultimate title in a crazy atmosphere, punctuated by concerts and animations.

Among the pros who came to support the elite teams were Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson and Rudy Gobert.

In the men’s category, the FUSION team regained its winning position against the defending champion LE CARTEL after a hard-fought match, led by « the mountain » aka Jerry Butsiele, Jordan Aboudou and Yacouba Ouattara. Bravo gentlemen !

In the women’s game, the victory came down to a wire for the team of Migna Touré aka Lokosso: I CAN PLAY. She won 34 to 33 against the valorous players of the DIARRA ACADEMY. Thank you and congratulations ladies !

Saturday night’s highly anticipated dunk contest featured 4 of the world’s greatest dunkers: Christopher Spell, Anthony Hamilton Jr., Tony Crosby II and Tyler Currie.

It was the brilliant Tyler Currie who won with several spectacular dunks !

The star performer at QUAI 54 was of course MOKOBE from the legendary Vitry rap group « 113 ». The musical line-up was crazy ! About 10 DJs took turns at the turntables, French and international artists brought their good vibes, such as Naza, Guy 2 Bezbar, Leto, Tiakola but also Da baby, Fally Ipupa or Yemi Alade.

The results of the 17th edition of the QUAI 54 are excellent, both in terms of performance and atmosphere. Congratulations to the organizers and the appointment is made for next year !
