Spreading sneaker and streetwear culture around the world, Japanese shop ATMOS unveils a new project paying homage to a classic silhouette. Based on the timeless PUMA Suede, a “PUMA SUEDE VTG MIJ AGED MIJ ATMOS” is presented today.
This special Puma suede was carefully handcrafted by Japanese artisans from one of the best tanneries in the city of Himeji. The goal was to replicate the iconic silhouette released in 1968 as best as possible, with its color codes, specifications from the Yugoslavian production period of the 70s-80s and the “cement” gluing method of the outsole.
Human skills were brought to bear at every stage of the process. The craftsmen selected, dyed and checked high quality European suede. To bring an iconic vintage look to this silhouette, the suede was then hand sanded with various sandpapers to give it an aged finish. The Puma brandings on the quarter panel and tongue tag appear in their vintage version, in a bid to regain authenticity. Once the pair is finished, it has been treated again to accentuate the vintage worn look.
This PUMA SUEDE VTG MIJ AGED MIJ ATMOS comes to us in 3 iconic colorways : Blue/White, Black/Blue and Green/White.
The rock band The BONEZ was invited by the shop atmos to put in images these 3 exclusive versions.
The PUMA SUEDE VTG MIJ AGED MIJ ATMOS will be released on December 21, 2021, via a raffle on atmos-tokyo.com open from December 17, 2021. The price is set at 178$ (20 350¥) per pair.
