Last September, Jennifer Ford’s brand, PREMIUM GOODS, teased an upcoming collaboration with Nike based on the iconic Air Force 1. The silhouette designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982 has been reworked to match the world of the founder of the Houston shop.
PREMIUM GOODS adds a touch of luxury to the legendary sneaker that celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022.
Available in two colorways, « The Sophia » seen earlier, and « The Bella » that appeared later, this special version is inspired by Jennifer Ford‘s love and past work in the jewelry industry. She blends textures, incorporates artisanal techniques and shares elegant color stories.
The PREMIUM GOODS owner commented on this collaborative AF1 Low : « Designing the shoe, I wanted to give a little piece of me in different ways, so I incorporated a little bit of my family into design and just a little bit of me. »
The collaborative Air Force 1 Low consists of a cream leather upper with quilted panels and matching overlays for « The Bella » version, or dark brown/black overlays for « The Sophia ». To take the luxury style a step further, the side Swoosh and heel tab are dressed in small beads and the dubraes appear gold with luxurious embellishments. The beads appear in a combination of gold brown and silver grey for « The Sophia » and red/blue/green/black for « The Bella » version. A white perforated tongue and cream rope laces complete the look. Premium Goods branding appears in red on the tongue tag, with « est. 2004 » on the inside, as well as in gold with luxurious decoration on the black insole. The whole is based on an all white sole.
The pairs will be delivered with 3 sets of laces with metallic gold aglets and in a specially designed box.
The Premium Goods x Nike Air Force 1 ‘The Sophia’ & ‘The Bella’ will be released on January 31, 2023 at 9am on Nike’s SNKRS app for 150€ per colorway. These pairs will also be available at select retailers. Get ready for it !
