German equipment manufacturer adidas is expanding its collaboration with Italian luxury brand Prada. While waiting for the release of the new colorways of the adidas Superstar revisited, the two partners surprise us with a new project. The shoe presented today appears to be a brand new model, inspired by the designs of the adidas Kamanda and the Prada America’s Cup.
The shoe is dressed in a predominantly white colour. Unlike the collaboration featuring a classic Superstar in premium leather « Made In Italy », this silhouette is adorned with innovative materials and adopts a futuristic look.
The sneaker consists of a semi-translucent TPE synthetic upper with milky white heat-welded inserts, especially on the laceguard and heel tab. The 3 adidas signature stripes and the logo on the heel appear subtly through the transparency. These semi-translucent materials allow too a glimpse of perforations on the side of the shoe and under the foot, adding comfort and breathability to the pair.
The unique touch of bright colour is provided by the iconic Prada red line, which is applied from the heel tab to the bottom of the heel. We also find the co-brandings in the same shade on the insole. The tongue, fabric inner lining and white laces harmonize the design. The whole is based on a molded semi-transparent rubber sole that follows the upper, creating a unified and elegant design.
