The Italian luxury house Prada and the German equipment manufacturer adidas are continuing their partnership by presenting a new version of the A+P Luna Rossa. After the launch of this new silhouette in December 2020 in white color (article available HERE), the two partners are unveiling an iteration in grey.
This silhouette is adorned with a soft and light design, and combines iconic elements from both brands.
Inspired by sailing and more specifically the 1997 Prada America’s Cup shoe, the sneaker is covered with a hydrophobic shell in transparent grey TPU. Underneath this protective membrane is an upper made by adidas teams using a series of high-performance recycled materials called PRIMEGREEN. The shoe’s tapered, cutting-edge shape is complemented by an ergonomic EVA tongue and suede insole for maximum comfort. The inner lining reminiscent of fishing nets and the imposing protective mudguard accentuate the « sail » influence of the shoe. The emblematic adidas 3 side stripes are presented in white and appear subtly through transparency. We find the pearl grey adidas branding on the TPU heel tab and the contrasting Linea Rossa Prada running from the heel to the bottom of the foot. The brandings are also associated with red color on the insole. To finalize the look and bring lightness and flexibility, the whole is based on a cream-colored perforated BOOST midsole combined with a translucent wrap-around outsole.
