A few months ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the collaboration between the designer Hikmet Sugoer and the prestigious German studio Porsche Design. From different backgrounds but coming together on a philosophy of unique product and high-end know-how, the two partners presented us a sneaker in limited edition that could be considered as a collector’s item.
I was lucky enough to receive it in advance but, unfortunately, the biggest difficulty was to find a vintage Porsche 912 or 911. I thank once again Steff, president of one of the biggest Porsche club in France (Club911.net), for having trusted me.
The shoe presented today is handmade in Germany with first quality materials. The upper is made of natural full grain cowhide and slate grey vegetable tanned leather. A double horizontal stripe of red and pearl grey on the back of the foot adds elegance and flair to the pair. To complete the design, we find a natural beige leather inner lining, pearl grey PORSCHE DESIGN lettering on the heel counter, as well as its logo engraved on the tongue and also the SONRA logo embossed on the side panels. The famous number « 912 » of the iconic Porsche appears on the red part of the heel, finalizing the tribute. The whole is based on a white midsole combined with a black outsole.
As usual with Sonra, the quality of materials and finishes is there. We can only validate this exceptional product designed with a legendary brand. For me, it’s an essential piece in a sneaker collection. Thanks again to Hikmet for his trust.
