The iconic German brand ADIDAS unveils a new collaborative version of the NMD S1 silhouette. After the high-end luggage specialist RIMOWA (article available HERE), it’s the turn of the famous customizer : Philllllthy, to bring his personal touch to this futuristic model of the brand with the 3 stripes.
Phillip Leyesa, better known as Philllllthy, goes from customizing shoes to his first official collaboration with ADIDAS with this exclusive project. This artist is known for giving an « aged » style to the pieces he reworks. In addition to transforming sneakers, Philllllthy also makes patchwork bags and reshapes jeans to give them a unique look. His work has caught the interest of many, including ADIDAS, who gave him an NMD S1 Friends & Family.
Almost a year after the introduction of this futuristic model, the brand with the 3 stripes and Philllllthy unveil an interesting collaborative version.
This special NMD S1 sports a signature vintage look from the custom artist. It consists of an upper constructed with a unique white/black checkered weave, complemented by blue elements such as side 3-Stripes, tongue, semi-translucent overlays and side tooling. A grey collar, light blue round laces and a white midsole adorned with the adidas Trefoil logo and Philllllthy’s « P » ensure the exclusive look. The whole is based on a natural gum spiked outsole, which confirms the retro inspiration of the collaborative pair.
The Philllllthy x adidas NMD S1 will be released in a few months, probably in November 2022, at selected retailers and on adidas.com for a price set at $220. More details to come, stay tuned !
