The German equipment manufacturer PUMA knows how to vary the pleasures. It presents as many iconic sneakers as it does playful ones. After the return of the mythical Suede, PUMA unveils a project based on the emblematic comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz « Peanuts ». For this special collaboration, the classic lifestyle silhouette, Ralph Sampson was chosen and features the famous dog Snoopy.
A little comeback for the youngest : Peanuts is a daily American Sunday comic strip, written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz. It’s one of the most popular and influential in the history of comics, with a total of 17,897 issues published and circulated over a period of almost 50 years, from October 1950 to February 2000. Snoopy, the white dog, is the main character in this comic strip, along with his master Charlie Brown. Through its protagonists, Peanuts is interested in the social circle of young people, with philosophical, psychological and humorous connotations.
The shoe paying homage to Snoopy consists of a white leather upper with matching overlays. This base is enhanced by touches of contrasting colors, appearing mainly on the back of the foot. We discover a black suede heel with an orange leather upper overhanging the sole, as well as the black Puma logo on a bright yellow background. To complete the design, the inner lining is also adorned in yellow, as is the co-branded insole adorned with a black Snoopy print with its basketball. The same Snoopy design, with its basketball colored in orange this time, adorns the side panels and protrudes over the top of the Sail sole. A special black branding label coupling the names of both partners, the black embroidery « SWISH! » on the medial side and orange zig-zag stitching on the mudguard and Puma stripe complete the look.
The Ralph Sampson Peanuts x PUMA will be available on January 15, 2021 at selected retailers and on puma.com for a suggested retail price of 110€.
