2021 has been marked by some great collaborations, led by the Nike Air Max 1 « Waves » from the Dutch shop PATTA. In addition to the 4 colorways « Monarch », « Aqua Noise », « Rush Maroon » and « Black » (articles available on this site), an « Orange Blaze » version was seen at the feet of the founders of the famous Amsterdam store, Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt and Edson Sabajo.
Just when you thought « The Wave » series was over or else fleshed out with « Friends&Family » pairs, Edson and Gee teased on Instagram an eye-catching new « Orange Blaze » colorway.
Just like the previous collaborative AM1s, this new version features a grey mesh upper, enhanced by a mudguard with a signature wavy finish. This insert and the rest of the overlays, as well as the tongue, are presented in brown leather with an eye-catching orange metallic effect. To ensure the look, the laces appear in orange and the Swoosh blends into the quarter panel. A nod to the « Rush Maroon » version that this new iteration strongly resembles : the inner lining is dressed in fuchsia. The upper eyelets are sky blue and the black tongue tag features the white woven co-branding « Patta Air Max ». The whole is based on a vintage cream midsole coupled with a black rubber outsole that adds the final touch to the design.
This pair will most likely come in a special box and accompanied by a custom strap, just like the previous versions.
